Baptism Celebration

We think believer's baptism is a big deal at Escalate Church!  It is an opportunity for a believer in Jesus to publically profess his/her faith in Jesus and to point to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus which made his/her salvation possible.  So not only do we encourage those who have professed faith in Jesus to be baptized, but we celebrate with them when they do!

On this particular Saturday afternoon (Saturday, June 16th), we are going to have the opportunity to celebrate with some of our brothers and sisters in Christ who will be making their decision to follow after Jesus public through the act of baptism.  

Here are a couple of things that we would ask you to do:

1. SAVE THE DATE! - These celebrations are always better when everyone is present, so we would love for as many of you as possible (along with your family and friends) to be present to help us celebrate the public professions of faith that those who will be getting baptized will be making.  So make sure that you don't make any other plans on the afternoon of Saturday, June 16th.  
2. Let us know if you have not been baptized by immersion and you are wanting to be a part of this celebration by being baptized.  We don't want to leave anyone out!  We want to be obedient to Jesus' command, not only to make disciples, but also to baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
3. If you have questions about baptism: what it represents; why we baptize by immersion; who can receive baptism; etc. let us know!  We want to help answer those questions for you.  

We will begin gathering at the Morgans' house (477  17th Avenue NE) at 4:00 PM.  At 4:30 PM will start our baptism celebration.  Then after the baptisms everyone is invited to stick around for a cook-out and some fun together.  (Here is a link to the list of items we need for the cook-out.  Please check it out and sign-up to bring a few things with you!)

Also - don't forget to bring some fold-out chairs with you!  There is a good amount of seating available at the Morgan's home, but not enough for everyone.  

Mark your calendars and make plans to be a part of this special day!  It is going to be a great time of celebration!
